Karl Disney is a seasoned CPA with a Master of Business Taxation (MBT) degree from the University of Minnesota, which he earned in 1997. He began his tax career in 1995 at KPMG, where he worked for four years in the Financial Services Division, gaining invaluable experience at one of the Big 4 firms. Karl then spent nine and a half years in industry roles at companies like Best Buy, Katun Corporation, GMAC Residential Funding Corporation, US Bank, Northwest Airlines, and CRP Holdings, LLC. Throughout his career, he has held positions ranging from Tax Senior to Tax Manager, amassing over 20 years of extensive experience in corporate and public accounting.
In 2008, Karl launched his own firm, providing controller and tax director services to small and mid-sized businesses. In 2011, he reunited with Gary Carter, a favorite professor from the University of Minnesota's MBT Program.
Karl specializes in corporate, partnership, expatriate, and nonresident tax returns. He assists U.S. taxpayers both domestically and abroad, as well as small businesses with their tax reporting and auditing needs. He also advises clients on strategies to avoid costly tax mistakes in the future.
Karl enjoys the detail-oriented nature of his work, and his dedication to client satisfaction, combined with his independent, self-starting nature, makes him a valuable asset to any firm. He possesses strong organizational and time management skills, and his excellent communication abilities provide peace of mind for his clients.
Outside of work, Karl enjoys biking on Minnesota's great trails, playing softball, and attending various museums and concerts.
